Vanessa’s professional journey began in corporate marketing, where she thrived for over nine years, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector. Yet, the demands of “mommy life, wife life, and work life” led her to seek a creative outlet—a space where she could express her personality and sense of style. This personal need inspired her to create a blog and Instagram account under the name “Fancy Homebody,” where she shared her thoughts on family, fashion, and life as a homebody with flair. Originally intended as a fun side project, Fancy Homebody quickly resonated with a large audience of women, and by 2019, Vanessa realized that her unique voice and vision could evolve into something more.

In February 2020, Vanessa launched Fancy Homebody, recognizing a market need for high-quality essentials and luxury loungewear. Her vision was straightforward yet powerful: to create a brand that empowers women to feel confident, chic, and effortlessly put-together, even in life’s simplest moments. Launching just before the global pandemic shifted people into home-centered lifestyles, the “happy accident” grew rapidly into a flourishing business with a loyal following.
